BusinessProcessManagement (BPM?) uses WorkFlow tools and BusinessProcess modeling tools like BPML to manage and monitor business processes.

A Business Process is an abstract idea that describes some aspect of a business in terms of discrete steps, or actions, or events, that are followed in the process.

The idea is that an identifiable process can be broken down into small steps and managed. The steps are identified and tracked, with either specified people or applications processing the information at each step and reporting it to BusinessIntelligence tools, like the ExecutiveDashboard?.
